Going all out! Changli Formula CRT Racing Team ignites youthful passion on the race track!

Cheung Sha Polytechnic University Formula Racing Team (CRT)It is a multidisciplinary team mainly composed of students from the School of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering of Changsha University of Science and Technology. The team is dedicated to designing and building Formula E cars to compete in the annual China University Student Formula E Competition. The CRT team has now participated in thirteen editions of the Formula Student Series in China.

CAN buses play an important role in the field of motor racing. It connects the vehicle controller with the high-voltage battery control section and the motor controller so that they can communicate with each other. Thanks to this, the entire powertrain works efficiently and reliably to provide strong and stable power.Kvaser offers the Kvaser Leaf Light HS v2, a CAN bus high-speed USB interface for CRT fleets. It helps the team to receive CAN network messages in real time so that they can tune the car and ensure that it performs at its best on the race track.

In the last season. The CRT fleet is often plagued by abnormal motor operation during vehicle testing. For example, it may not start, or it may start abnormally. In order to solve these problems, theThe team chose to use the Kvaser Leaf Light HS v2 from Kvaser to monitor the CAN network for signals related to motor enable and torque requests.By listening to these signals, they were able to pinpoint a problem with the vehicle's control program, which was then improved with software provided by Kvaser.A reliable power system is obtained.

We use Kvaser Leaf Light HS v2 for rapid development of prototypes supported by program brushing as well as calibration.Improvement programs and more appropriate parameters are written based on the performance of the vehicle, resulting in better performance.
