Description
I. Overview
Each of the seven lasers in the CELESTA Solid State Light Source providesApprox. 1000 mWThe output power of the CELESTA quattro light engine is transmitted via a 1.5 mm diameter fiber optic cable. Similarly, the CELESTA quattro light engine offers a more cost-effective 4- or 5-wire option with the same output power specification. The laser output is combined with sophisticated control and monitoring systems to provide the performance required for confocal microscopy, optogenetics and other advanced imaging applications.
The control system of each CELESTA model is equipped with an on-board computer with an embedded command library.These commands provide access not only to the basic controls for output channel selection, on/off switching, and output intensity adjustment, but also to a large number of operating status reports and preference setting panels.The GUI resides on the onboard computer and is viewed using a web browser over a LAN connection, providing easy access to many command library functions.For applications requiring fast (100 microsecond) switching, TTL trigger inputs are provided on all seven output lines.Long-term output stability is maintained by active stabilization.
