The LIN protocol, designed by ACEA, is a low-cost, short-range, low-speed network. It can be used to transmit changes in state such as switch settings and sensor inputs and respond to them, and can therefore be used to transmit events that take place over a period of about a few milliseconds.
In terms of automotive convenience functions, such as power chair adjustment, multifunctional entertainment system, smart key, etc. are the scope of LIN application; and in terms of automotive safety functions, sensor headlights, power steering wheel, central control locking, and other applications can be seen in the LIN bus. The LIN bus can also be found in the safety functions such as power-assisted steering wheel, center control locks, etc. It also includes windshield wiper sensors, intelligent generators, and interior temperature sensors...the range of applications is unimaginable!
