Made in Europe - truly portable and powerful instruments
The Spectrum Compact (SC) Handheld Spectrum Analyzer is a true handheld and easy-to-use microwave measurement solution for the licensed microwave frequency band from 300Mhz to 87Ghz. These battery-powered units require no external down converter and are a must-have tool for any field engineer performing microwave equipment installation, link troubleshooting, site planning, and maintenance. The SC utilizes a resistive touch screen that allows the engineer to wear gloves while operating the unit. The SMA or 2.92mm connector allows the SC to be connected to any vendor's antenna or waveguide system*. In addition, the high sensitivity and low background noise make it possible to detect unusually weak signals. Designed specifically for microwave network engineers, the SC is ideal for outdoor use and can also be used for a variety of applications in VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal - Very Small Aperture Terminal), cellular network environments, from signal monitoring to troubleshooting and interference detection. SC can be used for high precision detection of existing interference on installed paths or available radio channels. SC Equipment Division provides data logging of all spectrum scans, and SAF Tenneco has designed a free PC software: Spectru m Manager to provide users with enhanced data processing and analysis capabilities for easy preparation of inspection reports.
*Applicable to 300Mhz~40Ghz devices. *In this article.
Major Groups of Users
Microwave Test Measurements
- Microwave Radio Installer/Integrator
- Microwave Radio Network Owners (cell phone carriers, internet service providers, utilities, base station owners)
- National Supervisory Authority
Strengths
- Lightweight (0.3kg ~ 0.57kg), the lightest spectrum analyzer on the market.
- High sensitivity (average -105dBm) and low noise of its own machine.
- Works independently and is not dependent on other devices.
- Resistive touch screen for glove operation.
- Compatible with different antenna systems.
- Free computer analysis software.
- Power on time (instant on/off).
- Battery power capacity is up to 4 hours and can be increased with a portable charger (approximately 1 hour longer).
- Operating temperature range -15°C to +55°C, can be used normally in cold areas.
- There are no hidden fees, such as an annual key license fee (the key cost of licensing).
- V&E's high-frequency spectral band on-site inspection capability for automotive radar testing is the most affordable option.
- Spectrometers can be purchased for only the required spectrum bands and therefore have a significant price advantage in the market.
Application Areas
Automotive radar testing (from development to repair), live broadcasting (in advance to detect sources of interference, to ensure signal stability), satellite (upload capacity), 5G indoor base station testing (indoor signal quality can be measured; mostly 26Ghz, 28Ghz, 38Ghz), outdoor microwave antenna testing, detection of illegal installation of foreign television stations, the installation of antennas, and so on, microwave-related industries.
List of SC's main applications in antennas
Field scouting, radio line installation, field verification of signal quality, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Applications
Free selection of radio channels, interference detection, verification of radio configuration, antenna commissioning, cross-polarization verification, comparative measurement of received signal power, survey of radio operation, checking the connection status of radio and antenna, replacement of installed antenna, saving of surveyed spectrum curves.
The following are examples of operations, the main purpose of which is to understand the different interference conditions and function modes.
