Program Effect

In wind power generation, the biggest challenge for wind turbines to stand out from the competition is to minimize energy losses. The key lies in the design of the rotor blades, with the goal of minimizing the generation of turbulence, which causes a braking effect and leads to losses. The rotor blades start to vibrate when turbulence is formed, and these vibrations can be detected by acceleration measurements. Using the measured data, further energy losses can be effectively reduced.

 

Fiber optic measurement systems are ideal for rotor blade acceleration measurements, providing reliability and freedom from external interference. The measuring head is fixed to the rotor blade, the fiber optic cable is extended to the hub, and the evaluation equipment such as the controller and laser source are mounted on the hub. This measurement enables data to be obtained for optimizing the blade shape and adjusting the position of the rotor blades for different wind conditions.
