Anybus Communicator is a proven and trusted protocol converter gateway that connects non-connected industrial equipment and devices on Modbus RTU networks to Lonworks.
Classic MODBUS registers for I/O data conversion
The gateway can convert Modbus register data into LonWorks variables (SNVT and/or UNVT). You can create a set of variables based on a LonMark feature profile, or you can create your own set of variables using user-defined network variables (UNVTs).
The hand manipulator is a slave on the Modbus RTU side a. This means that you connect it to a Modbus network connected to a Modbus RTU master. The configuration requires no programming and is done by the configuration tool that comes with the Windows environment.

Advanced programming skills are not required to set up Anybus® Communicator, as configuration is accomplished using the included, easy-to-use Windows™-based ACM (Anybus Configuration Manager).
