Durapipe's main business area is the water and wastewater treatment industry, where piping requirements can be complex and varied - including for the transport of drinking water, wastewater, reverse osmosis systems, slurries, ultra-pure water and sewage treatment.

The Anybus Communicator gateway connects non-connected industrial equipment to PROFIBUS, allowing the integration of serial RS-232/422/485 based industrial machinery and equipment without any changes to the equipment. Simply connect and configure.
The Anybus Communicator performs intelligent protocol conversion and presents serial data to the host PLC/controller as easy to process I/O data. As a simple accessory to an existing serial device, it provides an easy way to integrate the device into today's fieldbus networks without the engineering challenges of embedding a PROFIBUS interface in the device itself.
Physical simplicity and easy configuration
The physical simplicity of the Anybus Communicator gateway solution appealed to Durapipe, saving a great deal of potential engineering work. In addition, the Anybus Communicator gateway is easy to configure and there is no need to perform complex functions - opening or closing valves - Durapipe did not consider converting 4-20mA signals and monitoring the status of valves at different locations as this is not necessary in these specific water treatment applications. The Anybus Communicator gateway is housed in a separate enclosure for the valve actuator, eliminating the need to redesign the actuator, and has an IP65 or better environmental enclosure to ensure reliable operation in the valve's typical outdoor location in water and wastewater treatment applications.
